Ambrosia Salad, the name itself conjures images of a creamy, fruit-filled dish that is unapologetically sweet. Often called a marshmallow fruit salad or fluff salad, this classic recipe is equally at home as a light dessert or a festive holiday side dish.

What Exactly Is Ambrosia Salad?

The wordambrosia comes from Greek mythology, meaning “food of the gods.”
While this recipe won't give you any immortality, the combination of creamy dairy, tropical fruits, and soft marshmallows definitely feels heavenly.

Traditionally, Ambrosia Salad is a creamy American fruit salad made with whipped dairy and a blend of canned or fresh fruits. It’s an easy, no-bake holiday dessert recipe that is a must-try.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1/2 cup blue berries
  • ¼ cup POI'S rock sugar, powdered
  • ½ cup vanilla or Greek yogurt
  • ½ cup shredded sweetened coconut
  • 1 cup canned mandarin oranges
  • 1 cup pineapple tidbits, drained
  • 1 cup mini marshmallows
  • Squeeze of lemon, (optional)
  • A pinch of POI's Himalayan pink salt

Directions

1. Whip the Cream:Whip the heavy cream with finely ground sugar and a pinch of salt until soft peaks form.

2. Mix Fruits and Marshmallows:Gently fold in the fruits and mini marshmallows. Be careful not to break the fruit pieces.

3. Chill: At least for an hour. Chilling helps the marshmallows soften and absorb the creamy base.

Ambrosia Salad Add-Ons (Optional Mix-Ins)
